How to extract audio using VLC Media Player

As a video editor and composing Audio files, you always need to extract an audio file from a video. The free VLC media player can do this jo easily without external software or video editor program. You might don’t know but VLC is very useful and there are tons of built-in features within VLC to use. While free to download and use forever.

Why do you need to the extraction of the audio file?

Mostly, YouTubers and other video editor need to extract audio file specifically for the removal of noise and adding some effect such as fade, volume levelling, and silent duration. Converion steps

Using a PC or laptop, open your VLC Media Player then click on the Media from the menu. Scroll down and click on the Convert/Save. You can also use the Shortcut keys Ctrl + R. Refer to the screenshot below.

In the Open Media window, go to the first file for file selection. You can add local files from your PC or laptop by clicking the +Add button to browse and select the file. Now click the Convert/Save button at the bottom as highlighted in the screenshot.

In the Profile section, select the Audio MP3 or any option from MP3, Flac and CD. Click on the Settings option to Edit Selected Profile further. Review the encapsulation and Audio Codec. Choose MP3 or other options from the drop-down menu such as MPEG Audio, MPEG 4 Audio, AAC, A52/AC-3, Vorbis, Flac, Opus, Speex, Wav and WMA 2.

You can also change BitrateChannels and Sample Rate.

After selection of settings, provide the path for Destination file to save the MP3 output file in a similar path. Now click on the Save button to save your file.
